Rant below about Matrix Owners.

If you think you want your bone stock 2ZZ to be boosted to make 280 HP, you’re within a pipe dream. It will handle the T28 turbo. It will handle the supercharger. But I’ll be wagering on how fast it blows up. Oh yeah, 11 Compression will allow like 400 hp. The stock pistons are made from unobtanium and will handle boost like a boss. Totally.

Now he claims he’s seen many stock 2zzs running 280-290 WHP without any problems. lol.

This does not come near the 3 hour long discussion I had on trans issues with a Florida chap in that group. That turned my brain into slush and we both conceded that it was just another political ploy for some nefarious people on the left and right to gain political votes. I personally think most if not all politicians don’t believe in marginalized people. If it gets them votes by loving or hating them, they will discuss it. Just like any issue.

I also like how people’s middle names are often their businesses.

Talk about corporahumanization.

I want a Matrix XRS, and the only mod I’d do is the Bilstein shocks from a Corolla. The engine would stay stock.

but the Corolla shocks are made for a lighter car. The Matrix is more heavy on the back then a Corolla, you be better going after market.

Actually, the rear shocks are the same; it’s only the front struts that are different between the two (Matrix/Vibe bolt holes are larger). And the weight difference is only about 100 lb.

Many of the aftermarket coilovers are listed for both cars.

but some times 100lbs can really affect the springrate from shocks made more a lighter car.

I didn’t realize overly boosted Matrix’ were a thing now. (We test drove one back in 04 - wife didn’t like it and we ended up with an Altima instead.) Corolla shocks or no, i’d think it would still pretty much handle super conservatively, (understeer all day long.)

It’s more complex than that. Pandering is just the first stage in a line of actions that politicans have to take to acquire and maintain structures of power.

Let us say that you were running for office on the platform of, ‘Down with the Miatas’. Your rival doesn’t have a problem with Miatas, but 50 + 1% of the population does, and so you win. Your time on the campaign trail blasting Miatas and promising to do something to mitigate the problem will not just be forgotten by your key supporters on inauguration day. Spending time in office not doing anything, not pushing for anti-Miata legislation, not answering questions on why the miata problem continues unabated by you will damage you. Intransigence against your key supporters is a political tool rivals will use to undermine your administration and remove you from office, and there will be rivals because power attracts them.

Whether politicians think the ideas they campaign on are actually good things they believe in is not the point. Structures of power that obligate them to carry out their policies or face electoral consequences next time is. Politics and politicians are not your friends, anymore than a hammer, box of screws and pile of wood planks are. Friendship might make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, but it’s not gonna get that house built.

Is 280hp supposed to be a lot? Because Subies are notorious for having weak pistons amd they can handle sub 300hp tunes with ease. The EJ25 in the WRX is pretty much the same engine that’s in a Impreza. I would think if a Subie engine can handle that level of boost a Toyota engine can.

While they are meant for the Elise/Exige, Blackwatch Racing makes 2ZZ supercharger kits that are capable of up to 400 HP. They actually don’t even bother with after-cooling the intake charge on the 300 HP version of the kit, as it wasn’t necessary in their experience.
